ARKAROO ROCK

Arkaroo rock is a beautiful rock shelter with traditional ochre and charcoal paintings in the shadow of Ikara (wilpena pound) surrounded by rugged mountain ranges that depicts the Yura Muda (creation story) of Ikara.

On this self-drive tag-along tour you will enjoy spectacular scenery while learning about ancient Adnyamathanha culture. This unique tour is led by a traditional owner, offering an authentic and personal insight into the heritage and traditions of the Adnyamathanha people. Your guides connection to the land and its stories transforms this tour into a journey of discovery and respect.

Engage in an exploration of traditional bush tucker, native plants, local fauna, and the hidden knowledge of bush medicine, gaining a deeper understanding of how Adnyamathanha people harmoniously coexist with their environment.

Guests must have their own vehicle to transfer from the Wadna shop to Arkaroo Rock. Bookings cancelled 48 hours or more prior to commencement will receive a full refund. Within 48 hours or in the event of a no-show 100% of the experience price will be charged.
