Itinerary

8:00 AM – Guest Pickup
Guests will be collected from their accommodation or a pre-arranged meeting location within the Flinders
Ranges region. Common pickup points include the Reception Area at Willow Springs Station, nearby
stations, or other local lodges. Your cultural guide will welcome you and begin the journey through the
spectacular landscapes of the Flinders Ranges while sharing stories of Adnyamathanha Country and its
deep cultural significance.

Morning Stop – Sacred Canyon
Travel to Sacred Canyon, an important cultural site containing ancient rock engravings. Guests will learn
about traditional Adnyamathanha stories, the meaning of the petroglyphs, and cultural connections to
Country and ancestors. A gentle walk through the canyon allows time to observe the engravings and
experience the quiet beauty of this significant place.

Mid-Morning – Arkaroo Rock
Continue to Arkaroo Rock, home to one of the most significant Aboriginal rock painting sites in the Flinders
Ranges. Your guide will interpret the artwork and explain how stories, law, and knowledge were passed
through generations through these paintings.

Bush Tucker & Bush Medicine Experience
Throughout the journey, guests will be introduced to local Indigenous bush tucker and bush medicine
plants found across the Flinders Ranges landscape. Your guide will share knowledge about traditional
bush foods, native plants used for healing and medicinal purposes, and the cultural importance of these
plants to the Adnyamathanha people. Guests may have the opportunity to taste seasonal bush tucker and
experience traditional bush medicine.

Lunch in the Gorge
Enjoy a relaxed lunch surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Flinders Ranges gorge country. Take
in ancient geological formations, native wildlife and birdlife, and stories of seasonal movement and
traditional food sources.

Afternoon – Dingly Dell Cultural Site
Travel to Dingly Dell where visitors can see remarkable petroglyphs and the famous Diprotodon
engravings carved into the rock. Your guide will share stories of the ancient megafauna of the region,
cultural interpretations of the Diprotodon markings, and traditional knowledge connected to the landscape.

Wildlife Viewing
Along the journey guests may encounter native wildlife in their natural habitat, including kangaroos, emus,
and a variety of birdlife found throughout the Flinders Ranges.

Cultural Visit – Wadna Shop
Arrive at the Wadna Shop where guests will see cultural artefacts being handmade, explore locally
produced products and artwork, and learn about traditional materials and cultural practices.

Billy Tea & Damper Experience
Relax with a traditional bush hospitality experience including fresh billy tea, warm damper, scones, and
quandong jam. Your hosts will share stories of bush foods and cultural traditions connected to gathering
and preparing food on Country.

Late Afternoon – Return Journey
After a memorable cultural day immersed in Adnyamathanha Country, guests will begin the scenic return
journey back to their accommodation within the Flinders Ranges region.
